At Innovative Learning Institute, our core values serve as the foundation of everything we do. These values guide our interactions, decisions, and priorities as we work together to create a dynamic and inclusive learning community. Our commitment to differentiating the needs of each learner is reflected in the following core values:
1. Individualized Learning
We believe that every learner is unique, with their own set of strengths, interests, and learning styles. We are dedicated to providing individualized support and resources to meet the diverse needs of each student, empowering them to reach their full potential.
2. Collaboration and Communication
We value open communication and collaboration among students, parents, faculty, and the wider community. By working together as partners in education, we foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where everyone feels valued, heard, and respected.
3. Flexibility and Adaptability
In a rapidly changing world, adaptability is essential for success. We embrace flexibility in our approach to teaching and learning, recognizing that different learners may require different strategies and accommodations. We are committed to adapting our practices to meet the evolving needs of our students and the broader educational landscape.
4. Empowerment and Ownership
We believe in empowering students to take ownership of their learning journey. Through personalized goal-setting, reflection, and self-assessment, we encourage students to become active participants in their education, equipping them with the skills and confidence to succeed in school and beyond.
5. Diversity and Inclusion
We celebrate the diversity of our student body and recognize the strength that comes from embracing different perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences. We are committed to creating an inclusive learning environment where all students feel welcome, valued, and supported.
6. Lifelong Learning
Learning is a lifelong journey, and we are committed to fostering a love of learning that extends far beyond the classroom. We encourage curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking skills, empowering students to become lifelong learners who are equipped to navigate the complexities of the modern world.
If you share our commitment to differentiating the needs of each learner and would like to join our vibrant learning community, we invite you to explore Innovative Learning Institute further. Innovative Learning Institute was founded by Dr. David M. Hall, who is also a schoolteacher. Since 2005, Dr. Hall has worked with Fortune 500 companies, NCAA, government entities, and colleges and universities on workplace trainings. While Dr. Hall is not teaching the day-to-day lessons at the ILI learning cooperative, he has designed and oversees this neo-Deweyan educational model that is built on a firm commitment to differentiation.
Innovative Learning Institute has worked extensively with colleges and universities and students on service learning programs.
Dr. Hall has studied, backpacked, and run trips to 39 countries and territories around the world. As a college student he studied abroad on Semester at Sea and backpacked, through India, Thailand, Vietnam, China, Central America, and more. Even in college he was contributing to others’ traveling by writing for Transitions Abroad. He and his wife honeymooned by backpacking in Peru. Today his own family, including his children starting as young as 8, have participated in service learning trips in the Dominican Republic and Haiti.
Dr. Hall believes that students are not just pupils in a classroom but also members of a community and students of the world. He is passionate about helping foster growth through student engagement. In fact, he says that between his family, teaching profession, and trips abroad, he has all that he’s ever wanted in life.
Dr. Hall is a leader in our community. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the United Way of Pennsylvania, A Woman’s Place, a Bucks County shelter for survivors of relationship violence, and a founding member and founding co-chair of Out & Equal Philadelphia.
